In Memory OfSSG Tony R. Ward

SSG Tony R. Ward, 20, U.S. Army, born in Georgia October 31, 1949, passed away
in a non-hostile incident on May 20, 1970. Ward was an Infantryman with 2nd
Battalion, 501st Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam. While on a
counter-reconnaissance mission, he passed away after being hit by shrapnel from
an accidental grenade explosion. Before the military, Ward worked as a motorcycle
mechanic and enjoyed hitting the open road on his Honda CB160. He was a loving
family man and a great battle buddy. Rest easy, Soldier! Til Valhalla, Brother!
