SSG Philip N. Croteau, 41, Alabama Army National Guard, born in Texas January 10, 1977, lost the battle within on May 1, 2018. After serving as a Combat Engineer with 35th Engineer Battalion, Croteau became a Construction Engineer with 1151st Engineer Company and deployed to Afghanistan. There, he built barracks on FOB Lightning to ensure incoming troops had adequate living quarters. Croteau was a family man of faith. He is remembered for his kindness, patriotism, and as a protector of his loved ones. Rest easy, Soldier! Til Valhalla, Brother!
