SSG Matthew R. Hurst, 35, U.S. Army, born in New York July 27, 1988, passed away in a car accident on October 14, 2023. Hurst was an Administrator with the 154th Regiment Regional Training Institute. In addition to his clerical duties, he was a fitness instructor, motivating others to push past their physical limits and achieve lofty goals. Hurst is remembered as a patriotic man of faith who always went the extra mile. He enjoyed playing guitar, drag racing, but, above all, spending time with his wife and children. Rest easy, Soldier!
