SPC William S. Blevins, 21, U.S. Army, born in Ohio December 22, 1989, passed away from combat-related injuries on May 23, 2011. Blevins served with 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division and deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. While on patrol in Kunar, his vehicle was struck by an IED. Blevins and three brothers-in-arms did not survive the blast. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart, the Bronze Star, and has a memorial scholarship program named in his honor. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
