SP5 Alton R. Snow, 84, Texas Army National Guard, born in Texas April 28, 1939, passed away on August 28, 2023. Snow was first a Cooks Helper with 4th Howitzer Battalion, 142nd Cannon Artillery Regiment. He then became a Heavy Truck Driver with 1st Squadron, 124th Cavalry Regiment during the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Vietnam War. He was tasked with transporting the M28/M29 Davy Crockett Nuclear Weapon System to strategic locations if a full-scale nuclear war and ensuing invasions broke out with the Soviet Union.
