SP4 Reuben L. Garnett Jr., 23, U.S. Army, born in Pennsylvania July 22, 1942, was
killed in action on March 4, 1966. Garnett was an Infantryman with 1st Battalion,
327th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam. During the Battle of
My Phu, his unit was ambushed by NVA forces, and the Platoon Sergeant was
severely wounded. Garnett fell on the battlefield as he ran to try and save his
brother-in-arms. He was posthumously awarded a Purple Heart, the Bronze Star,
and has a bridge named after him in his hometown. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla,
