SP4 James W. Cahall, 20, U.S. Army, born in Missouri May 8, 1946, was killed in
action on January 15, 1967. Cahall was an Infantryman with 1st Infantry Division.
While on a mission to sweep the jungle of the Iron Triangle in Operation Cedar
Falls, his unit came under fire. Cahall, manning his M-60, was fighting off Viet
Cong troops when he was struck by enemy grenade shrapnel. For his service, he
was posthumously awarded a Purple Heart, the Bronze Star with "V" device, and
has a bridge in Missouri named in his honor. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
