In Memory Of

SGT William H. Tallerdy Jr., 65, U.S. Army, Texas Army National Guard, born in
Connecticut December 25, 1947, passed away from a heart attack on July 1, 2013.
In Vietnam, Tallerdy served with 1st Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry
Division. While on patrol, his unit was ambushed by VC forces. He was knocked
out by small arms fire but woke up and fired at VC troops until he ran out of ammo.
Tallerdy then helped the surviving members of his unit spot enemy soldiers until
reinforcements arrived. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart and the Silver
Star. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
