SGT Riley E. Farris, 75, U.S. Army, born in Oklahoma October 27, 1946, passed
away on May 8, 2022. Farris was an Infantryman with 3rd Battalion, 8th Infantry
Regiment, 4th Infantry Division in Vietnam. He saw heavy combat and during the
Battle of Dak To, he was wounded as his unit was fighting PAVN forces to take
control of Hill 724. After the military, Farris joined the American Legion and the
VFW, helping fellow Veterans overcome the hardships of returning to civilian life.
For his service, he earned a Purple Heart. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
