SGT Nathaniel Ballor, 25, U.S. Army, born February 15, 1997, was killed in a motorcycle crash on November 04, 2022. After graduating from the University of North Carolina, Ballor enlisted in the U.S. Army as a Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic with the 73rd Cavalry Regiment. He was deployed to Afghanistan with the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne, and was deployed to Afghanistan. Ballor's final assignment was in Japan while attached to the 1st Battalion, 1st Special Forces (Airborne). For his service, he earned an Army Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster and an Army Achievement Medal for combat with six oak leaf clusters and many others. Ballor was a very dedicated and hard-working soldier and a great friend. He rose to every challenge and was incredibly proud to serve his country. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
