Sgt Matthew J. Fenton, 24, U.S. Army, born in New Jersey January 17, 1982, passed away from combat-related injuries on May 5, 2006. Fenton served with 1st Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division and deployed for Operation Iraqi Freedom. While manning the turret of the lead Humvee of the convoy, a suicide bomber sped next to his vehicle and triggered the explosive. Fenton passed away from his injuries several days later. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart and has a post office named in his honor. Semper Fi, Marine! Til Valhalla, Brother!
