SGT & Lieutenant David L. Dudley, 66, U.S. Army, Iowa State Patrol, born in Iowa
June 9, 1947, passed away from heart failure on June 7, 2014. Dudley served with
1st Cavalry Division and fought in Vietnam. He then began a 39-year career with
the Iowa State Patrol, where he helped decrease the amount of alcohol-related
accidents by helping implement a new standard field sobriety test. Dudley earned
a Purple Heart, the Bronze Star, and two "Commissioner's Special Award for
Excellence" for Traffic Safety. Rest easy; We have the watch now! Til Valhalla,
