SGT Donald R. Edgerton, 33, U.S. Army, born in Alabama July 9, 1977, was killed in
action on July 10, 2010. Edgerton was a Cavalry Scout with 1st Squadron, 71st
Cavalry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), and first deployed to the
Middle East in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He then deployed to
Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. While leading a patrol in
Char Dara, Edgerton passed away when insurgents detonated an IED. For his
service, he earned a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Rest easy, Hero! Til
