SGT Chance A. Cannon, 58, U.S. Army, born January 16, 1950, passed away from
Agent Orange-related cancer on November 4, 2008. Cannon was part of a nineman
ambush team with 82nd Airborne in Vietnam. While on a mission to take out
an NVA compound, they were met by a barrage of lead and grenades. Amidst the
chaos, his Lieutenant got pinned down by enemy machine guns. Cannon
maneuvered his way to a position where he laid down cover fire, allowing his team
to fall back to safety. For his service, he earned the Bronze Star. Rest easy, Hero!
