Sergeant Richard A. Parks, 54, U.S.M.C., Martin County Sheriff's Office, born in
Florida July 16, 1966, passed away from cardiac arrest on March 27, 2021. After
serving in the Marine Corps, Parks began a career in law enforcement with Port St.
Lucie P.D. before transferring to Martin County S.O. As a Traffic Homicide
Investigator and DUI Specialist, Parks helped drastically lower the amount of drug
& alcohol-related vehicle accidents in his community. He earned the "PBA Officer
