S1 & PFC Joe Lara, 78, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, born in Texas June 18, 1927, passed
away on August 12, 2005. Lara first served as a Navy Molder in WWII, making
molds and cores to forge various kinds of replacement parts for damaged Naval
equipment. Next, he enlisted in the Army, assigned to 36th Quartermaster
Company, 36th Infantry Division. Lara deployed to fight in the Korean War several
times and was tasked with ensuring our troops had the fuel, food, and ammunition
needed to fight the invading Communist forces. Rest easy, Soldier! Til Valhalla,
