PO3 Herbert C. Falardeau Jr., 75, U.S. Navy, born in Massachusetts June 17, 1917,
passed away on October 14, 1992. During WWII, Falardeau was a Mailman at Pier
92 of the New York Fleet Post Offices. There, he helped sort and deliver the
avalanche of wartime letters and parcels sent to and from servicemembers across
the sea. After the war, Falardeau continued his career in the postal field and
became the Postmaster of his office. He was a great friend, a loving husband, and
