PFC John Niemczura Jr., 19, U.S. Army, born in Ohio December 31, 1924, was killed
in action on October 2, 1944. Niemczura was a Glider Infantryman with 325th
Glider Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division in WWII. There, he could quietly
land in strategic locations that other airborne units could not. After landing in
Holland for Operation Market Garden, he passed away from small arms fire during
an engagement with Axis forces. Niemczura earned a Purple Heart and was
posthumously awarded the Military Order of William. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla,
