PFC James P. White Jr., 19, U.S. Army, born March 10, 1987, was killed in action on
August 11, 2006. White served with 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 10th
Mountain Division (Light Infantry) and deployed for Operation Enduring Freedom.
While conducting a patrol in the mountains of Afghanistan, his unit was ambushed
by enemy forces and he was hit by small arms fire and RPG shrapnel. White and
two of his brothers-in-arms did not survive the attack. For his service, he earned a
Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
