In Memory OfPFC Florencio E. Quiñónez

March 29, 1913 - March 31, 1945

PFC Florencio E. Quiñónez, 32, U.S. Army, born in Texas March 29, 1913, was killed
in action on March 31, 1945. Quiñónez was an Infantryman with 36th Armored
Infantry Regiment, 3rd Armored Division, in WWII. He fought in the Normandy
Invasion, the Battle of the Bulge, and drove Axis forces back across the Rhine
River during the Allied push into Germany. In the Battle of Paderborn, he was
fighting to free the Buchenwald concentration camp when Quiñónez was killed by
enemy fire. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla,
