PFC Eric D. Currier, 21, U.S.M.C., born in Massachusetts March 13, 1988, was killed
in action on February 17, 2010. Currier was a Rifleman with 3rd Battalion, 6th
Marine Regiment, and deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring
Freedom. As his unit was preparing to launch an assault on a Taliban stronghold,
the enemy opened fire. Currier fell on the battlefield when he was struck by a
sniper's bullet. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart and has a memorial
bridge named in his honor. Semper Fi, Marine! Til Valhalla, Brother!
