PFC Clifford E. Stalkfleet, 22, U.S. Army, born in Kansas August 20, 1931, was
killed in action on December 31, 1953. Stalkfleet was a Combat Medic with 179th
Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Division in the Korean War. On May 12, 1952, his
unit engaged enemy forces near the "Jamestown Line." During the four-hour
firefight, Stalkfleet repeatedly ran into the fray to aid his wounded squadmates.
When the smoke had cleared, he was nowhere to be found and declared KIA in
1953. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla,
