Lieutenant Russell K. Freeman, 52, Rhode Island Department of Corrections, born April 30, 1968, passed away from COVID-19 on December 14, 2020. For 29 years, Freeman served the D.O.C. in various capacities. He was a Corrections Officer, an Investigator, and the Crisis Intervention Team Leader. Freeman believed in community and family. When he wasn't working, he was very involved in the PTA, was a first base coach on his daughters' softball team, and the assistant coach for his son's basketball team.
