LCpl Jon T. Hicks Jr., 20, U.S.M.C., born in New Jersey October 30, 1986, was
killed in action on September 10, 2007. Hicks was a Rifleman with 2nd Marine
Division and deployed for Operation Iraqi Freedom. While conducting a combat
operation in Anbar Province, the Humvee he was driving was struck by an IED.
Hicks and a fellow Marine did not survive the blast. For his service, he earned a
Purple Heart and has a scholarship program to aid those pursuing a career in the
military or law enforcement named in his honor. Semper Fi, Marine! Til Valhalla,
