CPL Floyd A. Keacher, 24, U.S. Army, born in Minnesota June 16, 1927, was killed in
action on September 9, 1951. Keacher was an Infantryman with 2nd Battalion, 35th
Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division in Korea when hostile forces attacked his
unit from fortified positions. Disregarding his own safety, he went into the fray and
took out three of the four emplacements before he was hit by enemy fire. His
sacrifice allowed his men to advance and win the day. He earned a Purple Heart
and the Distinguished Service Cross. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
