CPL Delbert L. White, 20, U.S. Army, born in Iowa February 10, 1931, passed away
in a POW camp on March 18, 1951. White was an Engineman, Operating with 2nd
Engineer (Combat) Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division in Korea. His unit was fighting
CCF troops so the rest of his division could fall back when he was captured and
sent to a POW camp, where he passed away from malnutrition. Listed as MIA for 71
years, White was identified via DNA and laid to rest in his hometown. He earned a
Purple Heart and the Prisoner of War Medal. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
