Cpl Barton R. Humlhanz, 23, U.S.M.C., born in Pennsylvania February 26, 1981,
was killed in action on August 26, 2004. After 9/11, Humlhanz felt it was his duty to
protect the U.S.A. He served as an MP with Marine Expeditionary Unit Service
Support Group 24, 24th MEU, and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
While conducting a combat operation in the Babil Province, he passed away when
his vehicle was struck by an enemy rocket. For his service, he was named "Marine
of the Quarter" and earned a Purple Heart. Semper Fi, Marine! Til Valhalla, Brother!
