Captain James W. Swenskie, 49, Harrison County EMS, born November 4, 1968, passed away from a heart attack while on duty on June 4, 2018. Swenskie served for over 30 years as an EMT with Harrison County EMS. He was known for his dedication to the safety of the people in his community and eventually reached the rank of Captain. In addition to his duties as an EMT, Swenskie had also been a Volunteer Firefighter since the age of 15. For his service, he was named "Paramedic of the Year" multiple times.
