In Memory OfTSgt Gerard J. Perry

TSgt Gerard J. Perry, 64, U.S. Army Air Corps, born June 23, 1924, passed away on December 7, 1988. In WWII, Perry was a B-24 Top Turret Gunner with 448th Bomb Group, 712th Bomb Squadron. While on a bombing mission over Germany, another bomber collided with his aircraft when an enemy fighter attacked it. Perry managed to bail out, but was quickly captured and sent to Stalag Luft IV where he remained a POW until the camp was liberated by the Soviet Red Army on May 2, 1945. For his service, he earned the Prisoner of War Medal. Fly high, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
