In Memory OfTrooper Houston F. Summers

Trooper Houston F. Summers, 62, Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP), born August 12, 1915, died in the line of duty on May 26, 1978. Summers began his 32-year career in traffic enforcement in northern Oklahoma. He then joined the Motor Inspection Division, helping recover stolen vehicles and apprehending fugitives. Summers was everything a great Peace Officer should be. He was a wise and patient mentor who left the world a better place than he found it. For his service, there is a memorial bridge named in his honor. Rest easy; We have the watch now! Til Valhalla, Brother!
