Trooper Corey S. Thompsen, 28, Illinois State Police (ISP), born August 28, 1996, died in the line of duty on October 18, 2024. Thompsen served in the ISP as part of their Motorcycle Enforcement Bureau division. During that time, he patrolled the highways, enforced traffic laws, and was on escort details for the President. Lastly, Thompsen joined the Special Operations Group, the "Fatal 4 Team," dedicated to reducing traffic fatalities in Illinois. For his service, he earned the Law Enforcement Medal of Honor.
