In Memory OfTec 5 Joseph H. Jenkins

Tec 5 Joseph H. Jenkins, 21, U.S. Army, born December 3, 1922, was killed in action on December 1, 1944. Jenkins was a Combat Medic with 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment. After Normandy and the liberation of Paris, he continued east into Germany. During the Battle of the Hürtgen Forest, his unit was moving to capture the town of Grosshau when Nazi forces attacked. During the firefight, Jenkins fell on the battlefield when he was hit by enemy machine guns. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
