In Memory OfTec 4 John E. Simkanich

Tec 4 John E. Simkanich, 98, U.S. Army, born in Pennsylvania September 28, 1924, passed away on September 2, 2023. In WWII, Simkanich was an Auto Mechanic with 141st Ordnance Base Automotive Maintenance Battalion. He was stationed in Leyte and New Guinea, where his unit maintained and repaired vehicles needed to liberate the Philippines. Simkanich was a family man of faith who enjoyed woodworking, golf, and a good game of cards. He also volunteered at senior centers, playing guitar and singing to the residents. Rest easy, Soldier!
