In Memory OfTec 4 James F. Laverty

Tec 4 James F. Laverty, 100, U.S. Army, born October 23, 1918, passed away on August 9, 2019. During WWII, Laverty served as an Infantryman with 116th Infantry Regiment, 29th Infantry Division, the tip of the spear in the European Campaign. As one of the first men to storm Omaha Beach, he also fought in the Battle of Saint-Lô, the Rhineland Campaign, and the Battle of the Bulge. Laverty and his men’s courage and ferocity helped push the Nazis back to Germany and hastened the Allied victory. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
