In Memory OfSSgt William E. Tyree

SSgt William E. Tyree, 29, U.S. Air Force, born April 17, 1938, passed away in a plane crash on June 9, 1967. Tyree served as a C-130 Flight Engineer with 463rd Troop Carrier Wing, 29th Troop Carrier Squadron, 7th Air Force, in Vietnam. After completing a resupply mission, he was returning to Tan Son Nhut Air Base when one of the aircraft's engines suddenly caught fire. Then, a catastrophic mechanical failure caused the wings to detach from the aircraft and crash. Tyree and four of his crewmates perished in the crash. Fly high, Airman! Til Valhalla, Brother!
