In Memory OfSSgt & Lieutenant Alfred E. Stewart

May 24, 1933 - March 9, 1973

SSgt & Lieutenant Alfred E. Stewart, 39, San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, born May 24, 1933, was shot and killed in the line of duty on March 09, 1973. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran turned lawman, Stewart led the county's narcotics task force and fell confronting the gunman who had just murdered a CHP officer in the Cajon Pass, days before his promotion to captain. A founding member and past president of the CNOA, he gave his life going to the aid of a fellow officer. He is survived by his three children. Semper Fi, Marine! Til Valhalla, Brother!
