SSgt Hal H. Potts, 84, U.S. Air Force, born August 13, 1921, passed away on December 24, 2005. After a year in the Army, Potts joined the Air Corps with 440th Ordnance Company in WWII. While at Clark Field in Luzon, Japanese forces attacked his base, and he was taken prisoner. After surviving the Bataan Death March, Potts endured years of brutality at a POW camp in Osaka until it was liberated in 1945. After the war, he reenlisted and served until retiring in 1964. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart and the POW Medal. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
