SSG Ronnie L. Sanders, 26, U.S. Army, born in Louisiana June 14, 1980, was killed
in action on February 3, 2007. Sanders served as a Platoon Sergeant with 407th
Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, and
deployed to the Middle East three times in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
While driving in a convoy north of Baghdad, he passed away when an IED
detonated next to his vehicle as he went by. For his service, he was posthumously
awarded a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
