In Memory OfSSG Kevin D. Davis

SSG Kevin D. Davis, 41, Oregon Army National Guard, born December 3, 1963, was killed in action on April 8, 2005. Davis was a Squad Leader with 1st Squadron, 82nd Cavalry Regiment, and deployed to Iraq with 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team. There, he conducted route-clearing missions, trained Iraqi Police, and protected polling sites for the new democratic elections. While on patrol in Hawijah, Davis was mortally wounded when his Humvee was struck by an IED. For his service, there is a highway named in his honor. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
