Finzel was a Merrill's Marauder, enduring a thousand miles on foot through the Burmese jungle, and a Pearl Harbor survivor who fought on Guadalcanal. He was a quiet man who carried the weight of three wars with dignity, his service a silent testament to an extraordinary generation.
