In Memory OfSPC Matthew M. Murchison

SPC Matthew M. Murchison, 21, U.S. Army, born in Kansas October 11, 1985, was killed in action on August 4, 2007. Murchison served as an MP with 127th MP Company, 720th Military Police Battalion, 89th Military Police Brigade, and deployed for Operation Iraqi Freedom. While manning his Humvee's turret on a mission to protect a super convoy from Balad to Baghdad, an IED struck his vehicle. Murchison was mortally wounded in the blast. For his service, he was posthumously awarded a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
