In Memory OfSPC Jesse D. Reed

SPC Jesse D. Reed, 26, U.S. Army, born in Pennsylvania October 16, 1983, was killed in action on July 14, 2010. Reed served as a Construction Equipment Operator with 618th Engineer Support Company, 27th Engineer Battalion in Afghanistan. While on a route-clearing mission, he was manning the turret of his MRAP when Taliban insurgents attacked his convoy. During the fight, an IED detonated near his vehicle, taking the lives of Reed and three of his fellow soldiers. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Rest easy, Hero!
