SPC Javier A. Villanueva, 25, U.S. Army, born in Texas August 22, 1980, was killed in action on November 24, 2005. Villanueva served as a Combat Medic with 2nd Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, and deployed to the Middle East in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. While conducting a combat operation in Al Asad, he was mortally wounded when an IED was triggered as his dismounted patrol walked by. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart, the Bronze Star, and has a Troop Medical Clinic named in his honor. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
