SPC Jason M. Johnston, 24, U.S. Army, born in New York December 10, 1985, was
killed in action on December 26, 2009. Johnston served as an Infantryman with
2nd Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, and
deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. On his second tour in
Afghanistan, his unit was conducting a dismounted patrol in Arghandab when he
was struck by an IED. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart and was made an
honorary member of his hometown's fire department. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla,
