In Memory OfSPC Gerald R. Jenkins

SPC Gerald R. Jenkins, 19, U.S. Army, born in Ohio November 23, 1990, was killed
in action on October 20, 2010. Jenkins was a Combat Engineer with 1st Brigade
Special Troops Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, and
deployed for Operation Enduring Freedom. He helped to locate and destroy IEDs
to protect our troops from hidden threats. Jenkins passed away while on a foot
patrol in Kandahar when a roadside bomb detonated as he walked by. For his
service, he earned a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Rest easy, Hero! Til
Valhalla, Brother!
