SPC Charles E. Bilbrey Jr., 21, U.S. Army, born in New York May 10, 1986, was killed in action on July 26, 2007. Bilbrey was a Cavalry Scout with 5th Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division and deployed to Iraq. After conducting a routine sweep in Al Anbar, his squad was transporting eight pallets of water to the dangerously dehydrated men in his unit when an IED struck their vehicle. Bilbrey and two brothers-in-arms did not survive the blast. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
