In Memory OfSP5 Ronald E. Pickens

January 14, 1947 - January 19, 2025

SP5 Ronald E. Pickens, 77, U.S. Army, born January 14, 1947, in Oakdale, Louisiana, passed away from cancer on January 19, 2025. He enlisted in 1966, serving as a Stock Control Account Specialist, ensuring the Army was supplied. His nearly two years at Camp Page, Korea, were marked by strategic tension along the DMZ. Ronald returned to Shreveport, building a life with his wife, Jana, and their adopted daughter. He found immense joy in his two-year-old granddaughter, who was constantly by his side. Ronald flew his veteran flags with quiet pride, a testament to his enduring commitment. His service-connected exposure to Agent Orange in Korea ultimately claimed his life, a war that never truly let him go. Rest easy, Soldier! Til Valhalla, Brother!
