SP5 Eugene L. Nelson, 77, U.S. Army, born October 23, 1947, passed away on January 13, 2025. Nelson served as a Construction Machine Operator with the 517th Engineer Company, 35th Engineer Battalion in Vietnam. There, he operated earthscrapers and bulldozers to clear, grade, and prepare land for roads, bases, and other construction projects. Nelson enjoyed fishing, jamming out to Bob Dylan, and cheering on his Wisconsin Badgers. He was a man of deep faith who is missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him. Rest easy, Soldier! Til Valhalla, Brother!
