In Memory OfSP4 Gary F. Carpenter

SP4 Gary F. Carpenter, 64, U.S. Army, born October 20, 1950, lost the battle within on December 18, 2014. Drafted in the first Vietnam lottery, Carpenter served as a radioman and light weapons infantryman with the 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry in Vietnam's Central Highlands, earning the Army Commendation Medal. He coached youth baseball and basketball, bowled competitively, and was a serious raccoon hunter. Diagnosed with ALS, he met it a day at a time. He is survived by his wife, Judith, and their two children. Rest easy, Soldier! Til Valhalla, Brother!
