July 10, 1944 - February 6, 1968

SP4 Conrad E. Ross, 23, U.S. Army, born in Indiana on July 10, 1944, was killed in action on February 6, 1968. Ross served as a Parachute Rigger with 2nd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division in the Vietnam War. At the height of the Tet Offensive, his unit was conducting combat operations in Long An Province when they came under heavy attack by NVA and Viet Cong forces. During the intense battle, Ross was fatally struck by enemy small arms fire. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
